About the Role
When you’re fully up to speed, you will take design schematics from the sales team and turn them into fully designed 3D cleanroom models, assembly drawings, and bills of materials, ready to manufacture and install. You will report to the Senior Product Engineer, with a clear path to take on greater engineering responsibility over time.
Responsibilities
- Model the cleanroom. Turn the sales team’s design schematics into fully designed 3D models using QleanAir’s standard components.
- Produce assembly drawings. Create the plan views, elevations, sections, and details needed to manufacture and install each cleanroom.
- Build the bill of materials. Develop a complete, accurate bill of materials for every project, drawing on the standard component catalog.
- Run engineering calculations. Handle basic calculations, such as filter and fan filter unit counts, under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Maintain the standard library. Keep our standard components, models, drawings, part numbers, and revisions accurate and well organized.
What we are looking for
Required
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, the Columbus, Ohio area; this is a hybrid role.
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent technical training and experience.
- Zero to three years of experience; internship or co-op experience in design or manufacturing engineering counts.
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD, ideally SolidWorks, and the ability to produce assembly drawings from a model.
- Strong attention to detail, good organization, and dependable follow-through across several projects at once.
- Clear written and verbal communication, and comfort asking questions and taking direction.
Preferred
- Exposure to regulated manufacturing, cleanrooms, life sciences, or HVAC and controlled environments.
- Experience building bills of materials or reading construction documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
